Click on one of the files below (Update_SLTA77V104.exe) to begin download.
Please save the downloaded file onto the Desktop of your computer (recommended).

Update_SLTA77V104.exe 【File size：53.4 MB (56,082,704 bytes)】

• Close all currently running programs on your computer.
• Double-click the downloaded file ([Update_SLTA77V104.exe ] for SLT-A77)
• Firmware Updater starts up. (Figure 2)
  

• Select [Menu] - [Setup] - [Initialize] on the camera.
• Select [Reset Default].
• Select [OK].

• Wait more than 10 seconds.
  (Do not care whether the LCD screen of the camera turns off, or not)
• Remove power source ( battery or AC adaptor ) from the camera.
• Attach power source ( battery or AC adaptor ) to the camera.

According to the instruction on Firmware Updater, select [Menu] - [Setup] - [USB Connection] on the camera, and check if [Mass Storage] is selected (Figure 3).
If the mode other than [Mass Storage] is selected, please select [Mass Storage].

Remove the memory card from the camera beforehand.

• Connect the camera to the computer with the supplied USB cable.
  ”USB Mode” appears on the LCD monitor of the camera.
• At this time, confirm is displayed on the task tray at the lower right corner of the computer screen.
• After confirming the above, click [Next] on Firmware Updater. Figure 4 appears on Firmware Updater, and Figure 5 appears on the LCD monitor of the camera.

• * In clicking [Next], do not cover Eyepiece sensors during the update; otherwise, the LCD monitor may switch to the Viewfinder. If you can not see anything on the LCD monitor, please press [FINDER/LCD button] (Figure 6).
• * If Figure 5 does not appears on the LCD monitor of the camera, please disconnect the USB cable from the camera, and proceed to the "Recovery procedure" of Annex-A.

		From now on, never turn off the camera until the firmware update is completed.

• After confirming the screens on Figures 4 and 5, click [Next]. The current version and the version after the update appear on the lower left part of the screen. (Figure 7)
• After confirming [Current version] is [Ver.1.02] or [Ver.1.03], click [Next].
  
  

  		If the screen on Figure 8 appears, the update is not required. According to the message, stop the USB connection and click [Finish]. Turn off the camera, remove the battery pack or the AC adaptor, and then turn on the camera again.

  

• Click on the task tray at the lower right corner of the computer screen to stop the USB connection (Figure 9).

  		Please keep the USB cable connected even after stopping the USB connection on the computer with the above operation.

  

• Press the center of the multi-selector (the control button) to execute.

  		The screen turns off when the center of the multi-selector (the control button) is pressed. Please proceed to the next step.

  

• Click [Next] on Firmware Updater. (Figure 12)

  

• After resetting, reconnection of the camera is verified, and the screen on Figure 13 appears.

• Click [Run] to start the update.
  The progress bar appears while updating (approximately 5 minutes).

  

  		Never turn off the camera nor disconnect the USB cable while updating.

When the update is completed, the screen on Figure 14 appears.
Click [Finish] and disconnect the USB cable.

		Turn off the camera, remove the battery pack or the AC adaptor, and then turn on the camera again.
