Every item or commodity that we possess originates from the finite resources of Earth. And recycling activities help to make people more conscious about these finite resources as well as the environment in general. Sony Marketing (Japan) initiates its pilot eco-project based on this idea of recycling in an effort to discover new ways of making the best use of discarded items. By helping people to better contribute to protecting the environment, it is hoped that they will be able to use purchased items carefully for much longer periods of time. Sony would be very pleased if all of our customers could participate in this unique eco-project idea.
As part of its new recycling project, Sony Marketing (Japan) will first initiate the "Sony Recycle Project JEANS" in Japan. This highly original project will recycle Sony's used advertising banners and turn them into a limited number of jeans, 120 pairs in total and make these available for retail sale. Based on the theme of, "Turning discarded items into objects of value", the project incorporates Sony corporate activities designed to create a new recycling system that will turn items no longer used into recycled goods offering significant retail value. What's more, a portion of the sales will be donated to support the preservation of World Heritage sites.
