Preparations before Running the Software Updater.

If you use OS X v.10.10, running DriverLoader, a preparatory application, is necessary before software updates.
If you use OS X v.10.9 or lower, it is unnecessary to run DriverLoader.

Please prepare the following items in addition to your camera.

System requirements for a computer

* Core Solo and Core Duo processors are no longer supported.
- Hard disk space: 200MB or more
- RAM: 512MB or more
・ Please close all other application software before updating the system software.
・ Prevent your computer from sleeping beforehand.

Other items

Compatible batteries, USB cables, etc. differ according to the unit. Therefore, refer to each unit’s operation manual and prepare the correct accessories.

【 Power source for the camera 】

Fully charged rechargeable battery pack.

Note:
The update can be performed only when the remaining battery level is

(three marks) or more. We recommend that you use a fully charged battery

Note:
Update functionality is not guaranteed with any other USB cable.

Running DriverLoader

Before performing the system software update, be sure to run DriverLoader.
If you use OS X v.10.9 or lower, it is unnecessary to run DriverLoader.

- When performing the system software update, please use a fully charged rechargeable battery pack NP-BX1.
- Do not remove the battery pack during the update; otherwise, the camera may become inoperable due to the sudden power shutdown.
- Remove the memory card from the camera beforehand.
- Prevent your computer from sleeping beforehand, because it takes approximately 10 minutes to perform the system software update. For details on how to do this, consult the manufacturer.

【 1. Download the update file 】

*If the OS version of your computer is OS X v.10.10,
you need to download the Driver Loader.
Please save the downloaded file onto the Desktop of your computer (recommended).

【 2. Start up DriverLoader 】

Note:
If you use OS X v.10.10, running DriverLoader, a preparatory application, is necessary before software updates.
If you use OS X v.10.09 or lower, it is unnecessary to run DriverLoader.

Double-click the downloaded file [DL100_1411a.dmg]. Do not connect the camera yet at this point.
Double-click the [DL100_1411a] Folder which appears on the Desktop.
Double-click the [DriverLoader] icon.
To load a kernel extension, the message prompts you to allow the application to make changes. Type the password for the administrative account.
Continue the operation according to the procedure “Start up Firmware Updater.”

【 3. Start up Firmware Updater 】

Double-click the downloaded file [Update_****.dmg].
Do not connect the camera yet at this point.
[Update_****.dmg] is expanded.
Double-click the [FirmwareUpdater.app] icon.
To load a kernel extension, the message prompts you to allow the application to make changes. Type the password for the administrative account.

Note:
If the pop-up “ “FirmwareUpdater” can’t be opened because the identity of the developer cannot be confirmed.” appears, refer to the following page.

The warning message “”FirmwareUpdater” can’t be opened because the identity of the developer cannot be confirmed.” may appear when you double-click FirmwareUpdater.

1.The menu appears when you click the icon while pressing the [Control] key. Select “Open” in the menu.

2.Select “Open” when the warning message appears.

Firmware Updater starts up.
Continue the operation according to the procedure “Startup Firmware Updater.”
