2 Recording & Play Back

Can the recorded date and time be recorded?

A1:Clock is set, time is recorded with message recording automatically.
It can be check for changing display mode or supplied software Visual and Voice Editor.
What kinds of recording mode can be used ?

A2:ST(48kbps): High-quality stereo sound.
STLP(24kbps): Stereo sound for longer time.
SP(16kbps): Better sound (monaural sound).
LP(8kbps): Longer time (monaural sound).
Is it possible to change the recording mode while recording?

A3: No. It is not possible to switch between the modes while recording. To change the recording mode, please stop recording and switch the mode.
Is the built-in microphone directional?

A4:No. The built-in microphone is not directional.
Is it possible to switch the microphone sensitivity ?

A5:No. It is not necessary to set the microphone sensitivity for recording, because of the following function.
If the volume level is turn to over 30, the sound volume is being lauder in the whole part of the message by digital signal processing.. So, it will be hear the low-level part of a recorded message which level is impossible to hear. It is effective same as to switch the microphone sensitivity.
It is set automatically at the volume level is over 30. So, it can not set ON/OFF.
Is it possible to monitor the sounds while recording?

A6:Yes, It can be monitored while recording with headphones.
The recording level is fixed but the monitor volume can be turned.
[NOTE]
If the monitoring sound is very loud or ear receiver makes closer to IC recorder,the microphone pick the sound from the ear reciver then may make howling.
Noises are recorded during the recording.

A7:The vibration transmitted to the unit may caused noises.
•Open the display cover before recording.
•Do not rub the unit during the recording.
•If recording on the table, laid a cushion under the recorder.
Is it possible to duplicate the recorded messages?

A8:No. Recorded messages cannot be duplicated by the unit. It can be made a copy of a recorded message with using supplied software, Visual and Voice Editor.
Can the recorded message with others model of Sony IC recorder be play backed on the unit?
Can the recorded message with the unit be play backed on others Sony IC Recorder?


A9:It can be played back in both case.

The messages recorded with other IC Recorder:
1.Save the message on Digital Voice Editor Ver.2.31or higher.
2.Add the messageto the unit from supplied software Visual and Voice Editor. The file format is converted automatically.
Editor. The file format is converted automatically.

The messages recorded with the unit:
1.Save the message on supplied software Visual and Voice Editor .
2.Convert the file format to used IC Recorder format.
3.Add the message to the used IC Recorder from Digital Voice Editor Ver.2.31or higher.

*If the Visual and Voice Editor is installed to the computer which installed Digital Voice Editor Ver.2.0x/2.1x/2.2x or Memory Stick Voice Editor Ver.2x, the software can not be performed properly.
Apply the Update/Upgrade proguram of Digital Voice Editor in our support page.
*The file format of ICD-R100/R200 can not be converted.
Is it possible to dub recorded messages on the IC Recorder onto cassette or mini disc?

A10:Yes. It can be dubed with an optional connecting cable (*1). To dub onto cassette tape or mini disc, connect the headphone jack of the IC Recorder to the microphone jack or LINE IN jack of equipment such as tape recorder or mini disc recorder.

Is it possible to dub recorded messages on cassette or mini disc onto the IC Recorder?

A11:Yes. It can be dubed with an optional connecting cable (*1). To dub onto an IC Recorder, connect the microphone jack of the IC Recorder to the headphone jack or the LINE OUT jack of the tape recorder or mini disc unit.

[Note]
To adjust a recording level, use volume control of the tape recorder or mini disc unit.
If a connecting cable without resistance is used for dubbing messages onto an IC Recorder, it may interrupt the recording. Be sure to use a connecting cable with resistance.
Is it possible to record telephone sounds?

A12:Yes. The telephone sound can be recorded by using the headphones-type electret condenser microphone* or telephone-recording adapter*.

Note:
Telephone recording adapter may not be able to use by the structure of the telephone.

It may occur to be recorded noises when AC adopter used with TL-R10/TL-RH30 .

Is it possible to record sounds of a cellular phone?

A13:Yes. The cellular phone sound can be recorded by using the headphones-type electret condenser microphone ECM-TL1(not supplied).
Is there a Video Out jack?

A14:No,there is no video out jack.
